Boston Mayor to Trump on Illegals: ‘If People Want to Live Here, They’ll Live Here’

President Donald Trump has been pretty clear that cities offering sanctuary for illegals will see their federal funding stripped – but apparently, the message isn’t resonating.

Mayors around the nation heading up sanctuary cities are vowing a big fight. And really, this “Come-and-Get-Me-Copper” standoff with Trump by some of the country’s most liberal leaders is getting a bit ridiculous.

After all, wasn’t it Democrats who, during Barack Obama’s administration, screamed loudly that border control and immgration were federal authorities, and states have no right to enact their own rules or ignore the feds?

Apparently, that’s the line of logic when amnesty is the federal plan. But when it’s border crackdown that’s the White House order of the day?

Suddenly, border control is a state’s right.

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh is setting up for a showdown with President Trump over his city’s sanctuary status.

And we get this, from Boston’s Marty Walsh:

“[It’s an attack] on Boston’s people, Boston’s strength and Boston’s values,” said Democratic Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, during a press conference to discuss Trump’s executive order stripping federal funds from cities in violation of federal immigration laws.

Really? So “Boston Strong” refers to the numbers of illegals living within its boundaries?

Sad, very sad.

But Walsh went on: “If people want to live here, they’ll live here. They can use my office They can use any office in this building.”

How nice that Walsh is offering the full force of taxpaid facilities for illegals to use. Now, if he’d only open his private residence to shelter some refugees from, say Syria …

But Walsh is hardly alone.

This, from the Hill:

“Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel (D), meanwhile, stated his city intends on openly operating as a sanctuary city.

“‘I want to be clear,’ he said during a press conference in the nation’s third-largest city. ‘We’re gonna stay a sanctuary city.’

“‘We welcome people, whether you’re from Poland or Pakistan, whether you’re from Ireland or India or Israel and whether you’re from Mexico or Moldova, where my grandfather is from, you are welcome in Chicago as you pursue the American Dream.’

“Seattle Mayor Ed Murray (D), meanwhile, said that his city could withstand legal challenges from the Trump administration over the matter.

‘This city will not be bullied by this administration,’ he said Wednesday. ‘We believe we have the rule of law and the courts on our side.'”

Aren’t liberals a hoot?

They’re always so ready and willing to open arms wide to illegals and migrants to this country who’ve maybe been property vetted, maybe not – but never to their own homes.

So we have a Democrat mayor finally willing to stand up to William “BJ” Clinton, the man who said:
All Americans, not only in the States most heavily affected but in every place in this country, are rightly disturbed by the large numbers of illegal aliens entering our country. The jobs they hold might otherwise be held by citizens or legal immigrants. The public service they use impose burdens on our taxpayers. That’s why our administration has moved aggressively to secure our borders more by hiring a record number of new border guards, by deporting twice as many criminal aliens as ever before, by cracking down on illegal hiring, by barring welfare benefits to illegal aliens. In the budget I will present to you, we will try to do more to speed the deportation of illegal aliens who are arrested for crimes, to better identify illegal aliens in the workplace as recommended by the commission headed by former Congresswoman Barbara Jordan. We are a nation of immigrants. But we are also a nation of laws. It is wrong and ultimately self-defeating for a nation of immigrants to permit the kind of abuse of our immigration laws we have seen in recent years, and we must do more to stop it.

Oh! Wait! Now it’s D J Trump, so it’s not the
    Democrat Platform any more.
