Eric Trump — rightly — slams vicious left as ‘not even people’

Eric Trump, following in his father’s footsteps, issued some blunt talk about the very vicious left and its very vicious hatred — and now, predictably enough, his comments are being a bit skewed, no doubt, in order to drum up some of that vicious leftist hatred to generate even more anti-Trump headlines.

Sigh. It’s such a cycle of hatred we live in right now in America.

And it’s to that the younger Trump was speaking, on “Hannity” on Fox News.

“I’ve never seen hatred like this,” he said, The Hill noted. “To me, they’re not even people, It’s so, so sad. Morality’s just gone, morals have flown out the window, and we deserve so much better than this as a country.”

Pretty straight-forward, right?

Not to mention dead on. He’s quite correct; the political atmosphere is highly charged, and the left’s all-out attack on morals, values, conservatives — and Trump — is unlike any times in recent political history.

But out of that, The Hill’s headline got this: “Eric Trump: Dems ‘not even people.’”

What?

Talk about skewing the story.

True, Trump criticized Dems.

He said: “You see the Democratic Party, they’re imploding. They’re imploding. They became obstructionists because they have no message of their own.”

And he said this: “You see the head of the DNC, who is a total whack job. There’s no leadership there.”

And he talked about those on the left who try to come after his family.

But did he ever just issue a blanket statement that said, Dems Are Not Even People?

No. The context was about those in the Democratic Party who saw their political mission as taking down President Donald Trump, destroying the Trump family, taking an obstructionist goal to wherever it may lead — no moral compass allowed — and using an ends-justifies-any-means approach to politicking.

That’s quite different than saying “all Dems,” or just “Dems,” a characterization that simply hands the Democratic Party an easy tool to hit back and label the Trump family, once again, as radical.

It’s one thing to hate an immoral left. It’s another thing to hate a Democratic Party, which is what the term Dems conjures. One seems sensible; the other, a bit dismissive and discriminatory.

But in the regard Trump meant it — he’s right. Many of those in the Democratic Party, all of those on the far left, are using such vicious political tactics that they are indeed hardly human. They’re devoid of values, devoid of principles and notions of fair play — devoid of souls.
