Rosie O’Donnell Calls for John McCain as ‘Emergency Interim President’

Rosie O’Donnell – a woman, who in the interest of full disclosure, held a massive grudge against Donald Trump long before he announced, never mind won, a ticket to the White House – has come out swinging against the president-elect in full force, declaring him guilty of “treason” and demanding a fresh face, Sen. John McCain, become the new commander-in-chief.

This comes after she petitioned President Obama to declare martial law to delay the whole inauguration of Trump.

It’s all on Twitter.

On January 11, the former “View” host wrote: “I FULLY SUPPORT IMPOSING MARTIAL LAW – DELAYING THE INAUGURATION – UNTIL TRUMP IS ‘CLEARED’ OF ALL CHARGES.”

Then, on Janary 15, she tweeted: “@SenJohnMcCain FOR EMERGENCY INTERIM PRESIDENT – ONE MONTH INAUGURATION PAUSE – ILLEGITIMATE PRESIDENTS SHOULD NOT BE SWORN – GOD D[—] IT.”

As HeatSt.com noted, not all on Twtter were enamored with her call.

“@Rosie,” wrote one reader, “you do realize what you are calling for is civil war? Your tweet is dangerous and sad?”

And to that, O’Donnell responded: “NON VIOLENT PAUSE – PAUSE FOR ONE MONTH – TREASON IS THE REASON – GOP INTERIM PRESIDENT – DO NOT SWEAR HIM IN – FOR GODS SAKE.”

On January 17, apparently facing public backlash, O’Donnell softened her tone on Twitter a bit. But not by much.

She wrote: “I AM WITH ANYONE – LITERALLY – BUT HIM – GOOD GOD AMERICA DONT THROW OUR LEGACY AWAY – OUR BRIGHTEST MEN HAVE LED US THROUGH – HE CANT B 45.”

The “45” was apparently a reference to Trump’s place in history as America’s 45th president.

It’s hard to nail down what’s most bizarre about O’Donnell’s tweets – the fact that she’s slamming Trump for treason before he’s even taken office, and served in any White House capacity that could possibly bring on that charge. Or the fact that she’s advocating for the takeover of the White House by a man who didn’t even run for the presidency this year, or that stands in any line of power to assume the office should Trump become incapacited or unable to do so (wouldn’t that be Mike Pence, the vice president, Rosie?). Or, perhaps it’s just her utter ignorance of the whole constitutional system in place in America.

You choose.

O’Donnell’s logic is this: McCain ought to be the president, not Trump, because “one is a public servant and one an orange narcissist,” as HeatSt.com reported.
