Doug Schoen, Longtime Clinton Ally, Parts Way With Candidate: ‘As of Today, I Am Not a Supporter’

Doug Schoen, a longtime Clinton family political ally, sent out a shocking statement to national media this week, telling a wide-mouthed press that much as he’d like to continue supporting his Democratic friend, she’s just gotten too deep into scandals.

Schoen said during a Fox News interview with Harris Faulkner that the ongoing FBI investigation into Clinton’s private email server has landed him in the no-go zone for voting for her for president.

“As you know, I have been a supporter of Secretary Clinton,” he said, on Fox News. “But if the secretary of State wins, we will have a president under criminal investigation, with Huma Abedin under criminal investigation, with the secretary of state, the president-elect, should she win, under investigation.”

Can you say “wow?”

Schoen is a staunch Democrat and even stauncher defender of all-things-Clinton. His step off the Hillary rails is akin to a hard-core conservative standing by the politics and policies of self-declared socialist Bernie Sanders – or of a long-time Donald Trump fan finding new love for the Clinton progressive machine.

It’s that significant.

And to double down, Schoen said this: “I want to learn more this week. See what we see. But as of today, I am not a supporter of the secretary of state for the nation’s highest office.”
